Book
Roy is a film fan. He loves the cinema. Maybe he loves the cinema a little too much.
Lately, things have been going wrong. He settles into his favourite seat to watch an old movie, but he’s not seeing what he expects to see. No matter the film – The Graduate, Brief Encounter, The Magnificent Seven – he finds himself sucked from his seventh-row seat into the heart of the action on the big screen.
Roy’s everywhere. Playing lead roles in dozens of classic movies. A fantasy come true? Or a living nightmare?

Brian says: "The book is sub-titled The Film Lover’s Novel. It celebrates a love of the movies. I guess it helps if the reader is familiar with the movies featured in the novel but it might also introduce them to one or two less familiar titles. It's certainly intended to work as a piece of fiction even for those who don’t know the films. Ultimately, it is about childhood and adulthood, obsession, love and loss and possible redemption. The book is set in Scotland and in California, and it addresses the questions we all have: where did we come from, where are we going, how long do we have?"
